Our UV/RO Systems
UV Disinfection Systems
With industry regulations becoming more and more stringent, increasing press interest and the evolution of resistant strains of bacteria have resulted in the successful application of alternative methods of treatment, like UV treatment.
FloQuip offers complete UV systems for high-technology industries such as Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Semiconductor, Soft Drinks, Water Authorities, Potable Water, Offshore Platforms.
At the other end of the spectrum, low-cost domestic systems have been successfully solving individual water quality problems for many years. We’re able to offer both Medium Pressure, Low Pressure, and Low-Pressure Amalgam disinfection systems.
We also offer Special Ultraviolet systems, offering clients an individually tailored service to solve the most complex of disinfection problems.
Ultraviolet technology is used extensively in many industry sectors including – Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Catering, Off-shore industries, Swimming, and leisure industry, Ocean-going vessels (drinking water & ballast water), Drinking water industry, Food and beverage production, Wastewater treatment industry.
UV light is effective against contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, mould, spores, algae, and other microorganisms as it prevents growth and reproduction. If left untreated, these organisms remain in the water and produce a bio-film coating throughout the water system which harbours more bacteria and makes the water less safe to use or drink. Unlike chlorine or ozone treatments, UV does not create toxic substances or alter the taste and chemical properties of water.
Floquip systems can treat water from the smallest unit at 4 lpm up to a higher industrial flow rate of 250 lpm. All systems are registered as a WRAS Approved Products.
Typically installed at the point-of-entry or point-of-use, these systems can treat mains water as well as groundwater from boreholes and other source water. To ensure maximum exposure of UV light to microorganisms rather than suspended solids in the water, pre-filtration is recommended to help prevent a phenomenon known as ‘shadowing’.
Reverse Osmosis Systems (RO)
We also carry a range of Reverse Osmosis solutions. RO is a Simple and Straightforward Water Filtration Process. Reverse Osmosis is a process in which dissolved inorganic solids (such as salts) are removed from a solution (such as water). This is accomplished by household water pressure pushing the tap water through a semipermeable membrane.
Reverse Osmosis is a highly efficient way of purifying water and works by using a pump to push inlet water across a semi-permeable membrane. By applying back pressure, the water molecules are forced through the membrane leaving almost all (95% to (99%) of dissolved salts on the concentrate side of the membrane.
